The Republic of Korea intends to invest at brazilian pasture’s recovery

In a meeting at the Exportation and Importation Bank in South Korea, the Korea Eximbank, the Agriculture and Livestock Minister (MAPA), Carlos Fávaro, presented a brazilian proposal for the low productivity pasture recovery, which has a purpose of intensify the food production in a sustainable way.


The minister met up with the bank’s president, Yoon Hee-sung, at the institution headquarters this Tuesday (25) in Seoul, South Korea, to present the Agriculture and Livestock Minstry’s (MAPA) Project, that has as an objective, the recovery and conversion of pasture areas that allow brazilian food production to double, without defloresting.


Anchored at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Company (Embrapa), with the Social and Economic National Development Bank (BNDES) and capirity from the Banco do Brasil for the resources’s dsitribution, the proposal of up to 40 milllion acres of degrade dor low productivity pastures’s area has as main goal contribute for the global food secutrity, using an sustainable and atractive agricultural production. The program estimates US$120 billion dollar Investments in 10 years.


International investors can participate in the program by financing the recovery of areas that will serve for high quality food production to the national and international markets.


After the meeting, the Eximbank showed interest at the initiative and participation in credit operations with Banco do Brasil for sustainable agriculture and infrastructure projects.
